Hildegardis Filia Vulframni Laurel Ceremony

There are a lot more pictures for Hilde's ceremony than for Jaqulinne's announcement. They are shown in the order I took them. There are pictures of all the spokepeople in the order that they spoke. My apologies in advance if I have accidentally mangled the spelling and preferred titles of the spokespeople. Just like I was for Jaquelinne's announcement, again I'm in the knot of laurels to the right of the thrones, looking up to take my pictures with all the same problems still with the bright lights in the background.

Hilde kneeling before their Majesties. She was kneeling on a prie dieu for her ceremony which is why all my pictures of her are looking slightly upward.

Not a great shot of Hilde at the start of the ceremony.

A nice shot of HRM Nisa while Baroness Casamira (the strip of brocade along the left edge of the picture) is talking about her soon-to-be-former apprentice Hilde.

A nice shot of Hilde as Casamira (the brocade along the right edge of the photo) says something to the Queen.

Casamira addressing Hilde. (The reason all the shots of Casamira here are just flashes of brocade is because she was standing right in front me.)

Here's a shot of some of the laurels on the other side of the thrones. Braden is wearing his nifty yellow felt judenhut. Her Grace Caryn is wearing a lovely heraldic cotehardie. Note she is also wearing a yellow veil. From the 11th through 14th centuries, fashionable women often wore either white or yellow (dyed with saffron) veils - so that makes Caryn really at the very height of fashion at this event. ;-)

Their Graces Timmur and Tianna spoke for the royal peers.

A second shot of Timmur and Tianna.

A third shot of their graces. I was trying to get a shot minimizing the bright lights in the background. I wasn't very successful in that regard.

Sir Raven spoke for the chivlary.

This is just a quick picture of Mistress Constance to my left, taken as Raven finished speaking.

Their Excellencies James Ulrich and Rachel, spoke for the pelicans. Well, mostly it was Ulrich speaking for both of them.

I was trying to get Ulrich's head better defined by getting it away from the black hanging cloth above and behind him. But doing so introduced another of those #@$%&*!!! bright lights into the background.

Mistress Constance spoke for the laurels. The angle is so extreme because she was standing right next to me.

It took a little manuveering, but I managed to get a shot of Her Excellency Rachel (wearing green, in the middle of the picture) as Constance finished her spokesperson piece.

A blurry shot of the folks again on the other side of the thrones.

The person in the white coif and the green dress in the distance, under and slightly to the left of the bright light in the center of the picture, is Mistress Caointairn, who spoke for the populace.

A second shot of Caointairn speaking.

Yet still another shot of the folks on the other side of the thrones.

I can't remember what was happening here. This shot does show just how hard it was to get any decent shots of his Majesty because of the #@$%&*!!! bright lights behind him.

Casamira and the Queen speaking to one another.

Washing the old Hilde away so the peer that she is about to become can come forth.

Swearing on the sword of state.

More oath swearing.

Putting the medallion on Hilde.

The medallion conferral part 2 - all that long hair made the medallion bestowal quite an operation.

I was trying to get a good shot of the scroll as it was held up - and got a nice shot of the Queen as an unforeseen consequence.

The laurels on the other side of the thrones looking as the peerage cloak is brought up the aisle.

Putting the cloak on Hilde.

Hilde standing after being exhorted to greet her peers.

Hilde greeting her peers.

Friends and family mugging the new peer at the back of court.
